[untitled, #14]

“Blessed are those who mourn: for they shall be comforted.” -Matthew 5:4

i know the secrets you can’t tell;
the secrets i can keep.

rotate in the bathroom mirror until
you can’t stand up straight.

release your guttural sobs, slow
& careful.

feel the spike in your gut,
feel the sweat that beads,

spit while speaking, spit your secrets
on the cold tile floor,

let go & don’t let go &
fold yourself into an origami llama

overthink —
bite the pink out of your bottom lip

you know i will pick baby’s breath &
walk with you

you know i will cry when
i think of you

you know i will come
when you ask me to —

the most difficult thing in this world
is to love someone you can never touch
